How are you leveling up to become a boss?

Bosses must effectively manage, lead and inspire employees. This includes bringing in good managers who has the skills and experience to benefit the company mission, including the ability to motivate employees and align them with the company's vision.  This is important because leaders that carry out a boss vision are most likely an extension of the boss in like-mindedness.

Bosses should take their responsibilities seriously and find out what is needed to mobilize a winning culture to improve overall productivity. Being productive and effective in business is one of the biggest ways to to help your employees find purpose and meaning in their work.

Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning and focused effort.

Bosses need to set daily routines that lead to measured outcomes. Establish the mindset of understanding—Activity is not Productivity.  Trust me, I’ve been at this mental level some years ago and realized their is a better way I can manage my time and skills by focusing on what matters the most and executing it with smart planning, a clear vision and trusting the people I hire to do the same is helping me lead like a Boss.

You will need to figure out what works best for you and start small.  To help you level up, let’s have a look on some areas you can start practicing to help get you started in leading like a boss:

Here are 5 ways to lead like a Boss:

  1. Start Saying No. Your must be able to say No and hell no. Saying no is a sign of respect, Saying no when that's what you mean indicates respect for yourself and the other person. Because you're being honest and authentic is a quality that will cultivate healthy relationships. Another benefit of saying no is that you are modeling this behavior for others in your life.

  2. Increase Your Time. Time and energy equals economics so you must use your time wisely to improve your productivity not activity. For most bosses 70% of their time could be used better by focusing on getting the most out of every day. Part of this is writing things down. I do this every morning after my meditation, prayer and workout — I journal my weekly and daily goals then prioritize them on what matters most first.

  3. Communicate A Clear Vision. You must be mission-driven. A clear vision is critical to business success. For a boss to effectively lead his or her team, they need to have a clear vision of exactly what they want to achieve at work and in which direction their team should be going. A good boss is one who leads a team in a common and unified direction.

  4. Align leaders around your Strategy & Execution. Your must keep everyone energized and committed to the purpose of the company and use that as the fuel that keeps everybody rolling. Bosses do this while driving ownership of outcomes and buy-in by managing the process, content and conversations. Aligned teams and conversations are at the heart of alignment.

  5. Build A Solid Team. You should create a culture with a winning and accountability mindset. Great bosses create an environment that encourages team members to share information, skills, and support. They also expect their team members to demonstrate “good citizenship” values, not just meet tangible performance standards. Culture should always be your first priority - people can make or break you company.

REMEMBER

Take a quick start by shedding old, harmful habits and embracing new routines.  You don’t have to be perfect just keep going until this one sticks. You’ll feel better for it – promise!
